Identifying ABC's and Sounds

It’s important to first teach identifying letters/sounds and then focus more on how to form the letters. Children do not need to know every single letter and sound before writing but it will be frustrating for children to learn to write something s/he doesn’t even know the name of!

It is easier to remember information in a song (to a tune) then in a sentence so a song or a simple tune helps with many ABC activities.

Three things are crucial:
1. Read simple ABC books every day
2. Sing the ABC song every day
3. Sing your child’s name every day
