Learning To Spell His/Her Name

WHAT YOU NEED
  • Your voice
  • A tune to sing your child’s name to. It can be an existing song the child knows or your own made up tune.
HOW TO
  • Make up a tune/chant using the letters in child’s name. Example: Sing “S-p-e-n-c-e-r, Spencer, Spencer, S-p-e-n-c-e-r, Spencer …”
  • Keep the tune consistent and sing it to your child a few times a day.

Kids love to hear their own names so it will not get old!

OTHER WAYS TO LEARN HIS/HER  NAME:
  • Clap the letters out in the child’s name as you say them aloud.
  • You write (and says) the letters as the child watches.
  • You and the child spell the child’s name together using magnetic letters or letter stickers.

That rss option on your website here is impressive, you should tell people about it in your upcoming post. I haven’t noticed it for the first couple of times, now I’m using it every morning to check on any updates. I’m on a real slow dial-up connection in Australia and it’s rather hindering to sit there and wait for such a long time ’til the page loads… but hey, I just found your rss page and added it to the Google Reader and there you are… I’m always up-to-date! Well buddy, keep up the good work and make that rss button a little bigger so that other people can enjoy that as well :-P

Half time. At this point, you’ll have 8-12 weeks of solid tempo work under your belt and you ought to have a good really feel for your pace. Next up is 800 meter repeats. Commence with a lower volume, possibly 6-8 repeats for that very first couple of weeks, after which add 1 or two in case you feel up to it. The pace is only a second or two per lap slower than the pace for that 400s, so these will really feel harder than the previous distances.
